NEAR Protocol has announced the live deployment of Confidential Intents—the first implementation of its NEAR Intents framework—on the Aurora Intents Swap API as of July 13, 2026.
The new feature enables existing Aurora clients to activate confidential swaps by simply adding a single parameter to the quote endpoint, eliminating the need for a full reintegration. This update introduces private routing to intent-based cross-chain swaps, effectively concealing the origin and transaction path of each swap.
Operationally, the integration enhances the capabilities of the NEAR intents stack for wallets and decentralized applications already connected to Aurora, significantly reducing the development overhead typically associated with adopting new privacy features.
While the functionality is now live and technically accessible, its broader impact on the NEAR ecosystem hinges on adoption by traders and integrators at meaningful scale. It’s worth noting that Aurora operates as part of the NEAR ecosystem but functions independently from NEAR’s core on-chain token mechanics, making the connection indirect.
